Privacy Policy

The short version

• No account, no email, no phone number and no name are needed to use any iQuit app.
• Your reasons, check-ins, notes, quit date and progress are stored on your device and are not sent to us.
• We count anonymous usage events (for example "opened the SOS") with a random identifier that is not linked to who you are.
• Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. RevenueCat helps us confirm your subscription.
• We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
• You can ask us to delete anonymous data linked to your device at any time: esquynalabs@gmail.com.

Who we are

The iQuit apps and this website are made by Esquyna Labs ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the data described here. You can reach us at esquynalabs@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

The content you create inside the apps lives only on your device. We do not receive it and cannot read it:

• your reasons for quitting, notes and journal entries;
• check-ins, cravings you log, triggers and mood;
• your quit date, streaks, counters, money and time saved;
• app settings, reminder times and your progress through the 30-day plan.

Because of this, uninstalling the app or resetting it in Settings removes that content from your device. We cannot recover it for you.

What we collect

Anonymous usage events

To understand which parts of the apps help and which do not, the apps send small event messages, such as onboarding completed, a lesson opened, the SOS opened, a paywall viewed or a purchase started. Each event carries:

• a random anonymous identifier generated on your device;
• the app name and version, the operating system and its version, the device model family and the language;
• an approximate location (country or region) derived by our analytics providers from your network connection;
• the event name and simple properties of the event (for example which screen or which lesson number).

Events never include the text you write, your reasons, your notes or your check-in answers. We never connect this identifier to your name, email, phone number or contacts, and we do not try to.

Purchase information

When you buy a subscription or a lifetime unlock, the payment is processed by Apple or Google. We never see your card or payment details. RevenueCat receives the anonymous identifier and the store receipt so it can tell the app whether premium is active, and it sends us purchase events (started, renewed, cancelled) tied to that anonymous identifier.

A note on sensitive topics

The fact that someone installed an app about a habit may say something about their health. That is why we keep the identifier anonymous, keep your content on your device and do not share data with advertisers.

This website

This website does not use accounts. To measure which pages and buttons are useful, it uses PostHog (EU cloud, reached through our own domain) and Google Analytics 4. We record page views, clicks on the App Store and Google Play buttons, and clicks on help-line links, together with the page language and the campaign parameters in the link you arrived from (for example utm_source).

If your device is in a time zone in Europe, the site asks for your consent before storing any identifier in your browser (cookies or local storage). If you decline, we keep measuring only in memory, with no stored identifier. Your choice is saved in your browser and you can clear it at any time by clearing the site data.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the service.

Who processes data for us

• PostHog (EU cloud): product analytics for the apps and this website.
• Google (Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics 4): aggregated app and website analytics.
• RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management.
• Apple App Store and Google Play: downloads, payments and subscription billing.
• Vercel: hosting of this website and its technical logs.

These providers act on our instructions or under their own terms, and each has its own privacy policy. We share only what is described in this policy.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent personal data.
• We do not show advertising or share data with ad networks.
• We do not build a profile of you and we do not ask for your identity.
• We do not read what you write in the app.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the LGPD in Brazil) you may have the right to know what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to object to processing and to withdraw consent.

• Content on your device: it is yours. Delete it by resetting or uninstalling the app.
• Anonymous analytics tied to your device: write to esquynalabs@gmail.com from the device owner and include the anonymous identifier shown in the app under Settings, Privacy. We will delete the events linked to it.
• Purchases: manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account. Payment records held by the stores follow their own rules.
• Website: decline analytics in the banner, or clear the site data in your browser.
• You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Where data is processed

Some providers process data outside your country, including in the European Union and the United States. Where required, they rely on legal mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses. Analytics from PostHog are stored in its EU region.

How long we keep data

Anonymous analytics are kept only as long as they are useful to improve the apps, then deleted or reduced to aggregates. Purchase events are kept as long as needed for accounting and to support your subscription.

Age

iQuit is for adults, 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app, write to us and we will delete the related data.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections. Keeping your content on your device reduces what can be exposed. No system is perfectly secure, so please protect your phone with a passcode or biometrics.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For material changes we will also tell you in the app.
